Extraordinatory Attorney Woo is a fresh take on the legal drama genre and it has been the number one of the top 10 most-watched non-English series on Netflix for three weeks straight! A webtoon version of the show has been launched and an American remake is even in talks.

Woo Young Woo is a young lawyer with Asperger's syndrome. She boasts a high IQ, an impressive memory and a wonderfully creative thought process, but she struggles with everyday interactions.

Why is it so popular?

This endearing series show the difficulties encountered by a person on the autistic spectrum. Park Eun-bin portrays Woo in a delicate manner without ever being caricaturial. She said that she prepared while reading books on the matter, and was trying her best to depict her character the best way as possible:

“When I got this role, I felt a sense of responsibility. Without hurting anyone’s feelings, will I be able to embrace everything and act naturally in this role? That was my biggest concern.”

— Park Eun Bin

All the characters in the show are likable in their own way so that it is really a refreshing comfy series in a world ever so violent. I think she did a good job and I'm exctited to see next week's episodes!
