Seoul is known for its eclectic fashion scene and stylish residents throughout the city. However, where do the residents get such stylish options? Well, I am here to list some of the most popular shopping districts in Seoul and where to find them. 

Myeongdong Street Shopping

Myeongdong Shopping Streets has a collection of street vendors, high-end fashion, cafes, and places to enjoy traditional Korean Food. In addition to this there is also a collection of department stores across the street from Myeongdong, including Lotte Young Plaza and Lotte Department store. Right under this is the Myeongdong Underground Shopping Center.

The Myeongdong Underground Shopping center is almost directly connected to Myeongdong Shopping Streets. You enter an underground area as you would the subway, except for this area is strictly reserved for shops and a few other types of business such as hair salons or coffee shops. Myeongdong Underground shopping is underneath the street that directly leads to the Lotte Young Plaza and Lotte Department store, so you are able to walk to either one of these stores through the Myeongdong Underground Shopping Center. 

Hongdae Shopping Street

Hongdae is one of the most popular shopping districts where students in Seoul go to enjoy sales on cute fashion trends. There are multiple streets with a wide variety of shops to choose from including street vendors, restaurants, fortune tellers, selfie shops, and both local and chain coffee places to enjoy. You are also likely to see busking from local artists or street performers. If you're looking for more inexpensive options of where to shop for local trends, I would definitely look in this area. However, not all places allow you to try on your items, so make sure that you are conscious of the size that you are buying.  

Dongdaemun Shopping Complex

Dongdaemun was founded in 1970 and is one of the most well-known and largest markets in Korea today. This shopping complex has managed to maintain its status of the largest in Asia for the last 40 years and continues to build up its reputation as a hub of international design. It is home to a large variety of shops for clothing material, wedding products, household goods, and more! Although this is a very unique shopping complex it is more for home goods materials and not so much for shopping for clothing items. 

Ewha Womans University Fashion Street

The streets surrounding Ewha Woman's university are known as Ewha Womans University Fashion Streets. There is a multitude of street vendors selling anything from fashion items, clothing, shoes, and accessories to many types of delicious foods. There is also a number of designer stores along this street.  While you are here you can receive a make over from one of their many hair salons offering a variety of services. 

Insa-Dong

Insa-Dong is one of the most traditional areas to visit in Seoul. With 40% of the country's art galleries and antique shops and 90% of its traditional stationary shops calling this area home. It is home to significant historical places such as the Gyeongbokgung palace which is one of the most known and and historic palaces in Korea. The name comes from two neighborhoods “In" and “Sa” coming together to make Insa-Dong. There is a wide range of shopping areas here and I would definitely recommend checking out all of the historical features of this area.
